Poor poor service. Was charged an outrageous unauthorized amount on my credit card despite submitting numerous credit card authorization forms with my company credit card in advance and calling to confirm and then also confirming upon checkout. When I called to rectify the staff was rude and snotty. Told me she isn't in charge of taking payments... even though shes the only one on staff. And that I'd have to wait for the GM to call me and then hung up on me. DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!
It was a nice motel in Blackfalds. A better choice over the BMI in Blackfalds. It was very clean and the people at the front desk was very welcoming and polite. The gym was good to work out in but not very much options for weight lifting. There was fair amount of treadmills and two bicycles. Can not get dumbbells over 50lbs. The free breakfast in the morning was nice but its the same everyday when I stayed there. Beds were comfy and the were rooms clean. Highly suggest get a suite over a regular room. It is larger and you get a microwave and fridge. If you are staying in Blackfalds for awhile and plan to work out. There a few gyms in the town you can choose from since the motel only has a selection to offer. Overall, I have to say I enjoyed my stay at the Microtel inn & Suites!
Overall great stay! Room was clean, bed was comfy, staff friendly. Continental breakfast was mediocre. Still really good value and would return!
While it's definitely a budget hotel, you get a lot more than what you pay for. The hotel is newer and well appointed and is very quiet and quite clean. It's also very convenient to grocery and liquor stores and restaurants. The only minor complaint is that upkeep seems a little lax - walls are damaged and some of the amenities (hot tub, ice maker) were out of service during our stay.
Rooms are quite nicely appointed. Breakfast looked very good, although I didn't have time to enjoy it, thanks to a co worker being late. Eggs looked real, as opposed to the liquid ones found at other hotels. There was an ample supply of bacon also. The was also cereal and waffles and I believe fruit and stuff.Don't desk staff were friendly and helpful.My only complaint would be that I didn't have a fridge and microwave in the room. This is a big deal for me. I really think hotels should be required by law to privileges these things.I work away from home over 300 days a year, so I just can't afford to eat out every day.I also t honk out would be pretty inconvenient if you had to heat a baby's bottle or something, and had to go to the breakfast room to do so. They may have done tons with those appliances, but I'm not sure.It was not very busy, so it was nice and quiet.The property is relatively new.The rooms are very well lit, with lighting all around the bed, and and also over the indoor window seat.The clock radio is bright enough that you can find your way to the bathroom at night. I believe it may actually be designed to function as a night light. I found it quite useful.There is a 7-11 store very close by, a two minute walk, and within a five minute walk to groceries, a pub and restaurant, a subway restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, a has station and a liquor store.There is also a tim hortons right next door.The parking lot is large enough to accommodate large vehicles, and it appears that transport trucks could park on the street of they had a long trailer.
